Georgians Youth Group
We hope it is not too late to wish everyone a h ap py new year. Our meetings continue on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month during term time at 6. 30pm in the Wilkinson Hall. We welcome children from year 4 and above for an evening of fun and enjoyment with friends. We play games and have the opportunity to try crafts, clay, cooking etc . We rely on parent help to enable the meetings to take place and we thank all those parents who helped last term. During the holidays we sometimes arrange trips perhaps to the cinema or bowling. Last term we held a Pyjama and Pizza evening in aid of Children in Need which raised £55 and we took part in the annual Christmas Tree Festival. Our annual sponsored sleep in aid of SHELTER for the homeless will take place in January so we will let you know how we get on – whilst writing this we are experiencing some very low temperatures which serves as a reminder of all those who are homeless at this time of year. We hope our sponsors will be generous in their support. New members are alw ays welcome at our meetings.

Toddington Wives Group
Our meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of every month at 8 pm in the Wilkinson Hall. We welcome visitors to any of our meetings and new members are always we l c o m e. Meetings are varied and might include a visiting speaker or sometimes a social evening or a “hands on” evening trying a craft. Our Christmas tree in the Festival was much admired and thanks must go to all members who contributed to the decorations – many of them made at our “hands on” meeting in November - and also to those members who decorated the tre e. It re a l ly did look lovely. Our December meeting fell on one of the snowy days experienced before Christmas but this did not stop most of us making our way to the Hall for our annual Christmas evening! As usual we enjoyed singing carols and then a delicious buffet – it was a ve ry pleasant evening and we quickly fo r got about the snow outside!! Anyone is welcome to come to any of our meetings.

Table Top Sales are held in the Wilkinson Church Hall and are run as an indoor Car Boot Sale – you pay £5 for the hire of table and then bring anything you have for sale and hopefully sell it!! All money raised by selling your belongings is yours. The Friends will have a stall of their own and will serve coffee and biscuits. Anyone can book a table – first come first served – so please phone Dee Curtis 872649 if you would like to book a table for the Sale at 10. 30 – 12 noon on 27 February. We do hope you will support us at some or all of these events......and we look forward to seeing you

CAMEO …will take place on the following Mondays at 2 pm for parents/ grandparents/ carers with babies and toddlers in church first on 8 Feb 2010 and in Wilkinson Hall on 22 Feb 2010 and in church first on 8 March 2010 and in Wilkinson Hall on 22 March 2010

• an informal time together for adults and children – everyone welcome
• toys / activities/ crafts/ friendship/drinks
• once a month an informal pram service in the church – story/songs/ children’s band
• an ideal link with baptism.

We finish at about 3.15 pm although some parents leave in time to go to school. Everyone is welcome – we shall be pleased to see you .

Workshops for Children!
Did you come to our “Light Fa n t a s t i c” Workshop or more recently our nativity “C h ristmas with bells on”? We did and we all had a great time! Our nativity, open to all ages, attracted a wide age range of actors and actresses and resulted in a ve ry enjoyable afternoon. Friends and families watched the nativity while enjoying mincepies and mulled wine. Thank you to everyone who came – we know you enjoyed it because you said so! Now watch out for the ‘Easter Eggs-trav aganza!’ – full details will be available on posters in the village, In the Parish New s , f lyers in the l i b r a ry and at St Georges School.

Congratulations to Susan Knox who received an OBE in the NewYears Honours list for services to Food Safety. Although it’s a while since Susan lived at the Rectory I’m sure many people will remember her and be delighted with this well earned reward.
